The next meeting of the State Interagency Missouri River Authority (SIMRA) is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 26 starting at 1 p.m. in Sidney, Iowa.
The group is an interagency, interstate group that makes recommendations on policies affecting the Missouri River and participates in meetings of the Missouri River Association of States and Tribes (MoRAST).
The SIMRA will meet in the Fremont County Secondary Department’s conference room located at 2014 290th St. in Sidney. The meeting is open to the public.
Before the meeting, SIMRA representatives will tour a flood-damaged area near Hamburg and Percival to grasp the magnitude of the challenges still facing Iowans recovering from the Missouri River flood.

Five Iowa agencies are represented on the Missouri River Authority. They include the Governor's Office; the Secretary of Agriculture; the Chair of the Utilities Board; the Economic Development Authority and the directors of the departments of natural resources and transportation or their designees.
