Iowa’s 2011 hunter education classes are filling quickly and with few classes remaining attendees are encouraged to sign up before there is a waiting list.
Hunter education classes are taught by volunteer instructors who are also hunters so classes are typically not held after Nov. 15. To locate and register for a class, go to

Iowa law requires all persons born after Jan. 1, 1972 to successfully complete a hunter education class in order to purchase a hunting license. A person as young as 11 years old may take the class, but the certificate of completion will be valid on their 12th birthday.
