DES MOINES — The Iowa State Revolving Fund (SRF) is now accepting applications for a special round of drinking water funds.
Projects that impact public health risks, water efficiency or energy efficiency may receive a portion of the project cost as loan forgiveness – the equivalent of a grant – through the drinking water state revolving fund (DWSRF). Terms, eligible projects and groups, application procedures and deadlines are described at www.iowasrf.com/file.cfm/media/resources/DWSRF_green_solicitation_2011_905C36955F7E3.pdf.
Applications are due by Dec. 1.
The Drinking Water SRF funds water treatment plants or improvements to existing facilities, water line extensions to existing unserved properties, water storage facilities, wells and source water protection efforts. The DNR and the Iowa Finance Authority jointly administer the SRF.
