COTTER - The DNR is investigating a fish kill discovered this morning in a tributary to Short Creek, northwest of Columbus Junction.
DNR staff found no indication of a manure discharge and field testing showed ammonia levels normal. Samples have been collected for lab analysis.
More than four hundred dead fish, including minnows, suckers and sunfish, were found in a two-mile stretch of the stream.
The DNR will continue to monitor the situation.
