Stanhope Under Boil Advisory
Posted: 08/14/2014
STANHOPE – The city of Stanhope in Hamilton County ordered a boil advisory this morning after a water main broke, leaving the entire town without water.

The city has a contractor onsite making repairs.

Until two sets of water samples collected by the city show water is safe to drink and water pressure is restored, residents should boil their water or use bottled water for drinking and similar uses.

Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using. Use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth and food preparation until the city notifies residents the water is safe to drink.

Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water. Tap water can be used for bathing, laundry and other uses.
