Marion Man Injured While Pheasant Hunting
CEDAR RAPIDS – A Marion man was hit by pellets from a shotgun while pheasant hunting in Linn County shortly after noon on Sunday.
Eric Harms, 37, and Adam Bigley, 29, of Cedar Rapids, were hunting pheasants at the Wakpicada Natural Area south of Central City when birds flushed between them. Both hunters shot at the birds on or near the ground when Harms was struck in the calf by two pellets fired from Bigley’s gun which penetrated the leg.
Harms was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids where he was treated and released.
