PM2.5 Implementation Report for Governor on Website

The Department of Natural Resources’ report to the Governor and General Assembly entitled "Implementing the PM2.5 Ambient Air Quality Standard in the State of Iowa" is now available. The report includes the DNR’s summary and analysis of the PM2.5 implementation workgroup’s recommendations.

Iowa Code 455B.134(14), signed into law on April 7, 2010, directed the DNR to develop recommendations for:

DNR first worked with stakeholders by facilitating a workgroup from June 2010 – November 2010 to obtain recommendations on plans and programs for PM2.5 implementation. After evaluating those and other recommendations, the department developed the report making recommendations that meet the requirements of state and federal law.

DNR is grateful to the individuals and organizations that participated in the public input process through in-person meetings, conference calls, emails, and letter correspondence. This input was instrumental in the development of the recommendations found in the report.
