Peregrine Falcon Nesting Underway
Posted: 04/23/2013
Peregrine falcon pairs have been documented at all 15 nesting sites from 2012 with one additional Mississippi River cliff site, south of Lansing.  Last year 13 sites were successful that produced 34 young.

A falcon river trip and fish fry is planned for May 3 and 4, at Harper’s Ferry Community Center from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

A falcon program will follow with presenters from Hoos Woods Wildlife Center with live raptors featuring a Peregrine Falcon and tribal elders from Ho-Chunk Nation who will discuss their beliefs in peregrine falcons and the falcon recovery.

River cruises are planned to view falcons on the cliffs from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., on May 4, by Maiden Voyage River Tours.

A free will contribution is requested for the fish fry and falcon river trips.
