Wastewater Overflows at Keokuk's River Road Lift Station
Posted: 04/19/2013

The city of Keokuk reported a half-hour long wastewater discharge to the Mississippi River when floats were not properly operating at the River Road Lift Station. Approximately 10,000 gallons of wastewater was discharged.

The floats malfunctioned as result of high volume of flow into the lift station.

City staff stopped the discharge. Because of the high volume of water in the Mississippi River, the wastewater was swiftly diluted.
