Keokuk ― Two Keokuk wastewater stations each had a 150-gallon bypass March 10 when power was cut by a fallen tree hitting a power line. The bypass from the River Road Station reached the Mississippi River, but diluted quickly.

The public water supply at Keokuk was notified of the bypass to the Mississippi River.

The Indiana Hills station bypass occurred on land and the city will be directed to lime the area to kill pathogens that may be present.

Alliant Energy restored power to the lift stations in approximately 37 minutes.
