CHEROKEE - An April 5 program aimed at women who own or manage farmland in Cherokee and neighboring counties will be postponed.
"Due to delayed field conditions and additional requests from female landowners for another meeting, we decided to postpone the meeting and give potential attendees more planning time," said Renee Braun, NRCS district conservationist. "An important part of the Women Caring for the Land series, the program encourages informal discussion among women who share similar concerns and goals."
The meeting was scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cherokee County Conservation Board and included a tour of conservation practices in the county.
The Women, Food and Agriculture Network plans to host another meeting in early May. Learn more about WFAN at www.wfan.org.
