Mississippi Man Injured in Deer Hunting Incident in Monroe County

MONROE COUNTY – A Mississippi deer hunter was injured Sunday in an incident that occurred at approximately noon southwest of Blakesburg in Monroe County.

Clint Morgan, 48, of Saucier, MS, was hit in the elbow by a deer slug fired at a deer by some else in his seven-member hunting party. He was taken to Monroe Hospital in Albia then transported by ambulance to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Diminished view due to fog conditions experienced around the state on Sunday was not considered to be a factor in this incident.

The incident is still under investigation by the DNR.
