New Financial Assistance Opportunities Available for Landfill Diversion Projects

DES MOINES – The DNR’s Solid Waste Alternatives Program (SWAP) is now accepting financial assistance applications for projects that work to reduce the amount of solid waste generated and landfilled in Iowa.

The next SWAP application deadline is Jan. 2, 2013. All applications can be found at www.iowadnr.gov/FABA/ .

SWAP provides financial assistance for public and private sector solid waste management projects resulting in diversion of natural resources from the landfill through waste reduction, recycling, reuse and education.
