The city of Fontanelle lifted the boil advisory Oct. 19 after testing indicated the water supply was safe.

The city took two sets of water samples 24 hours apart. After test results showed both samples tested negative for coliform bacteria, the city notified residents the advisory was lifted.

The DNR recommended the boil advisory Oct. 15 after a break in a large water main left the city without water. Breaks in water pipes can allow contaminants to enter the water system.
