The Clear Lake Fisheries Management Station is located on the northeast shore of Clear Lake. The team consists of a biologist, technician, AmeriCorps member, and secretary. They manage public fishing waters in Kossuth, Winnebago, Worth, Hancock, Cerro Gordo, Humboldt, Wright, Franklin, Hamilton, and Hardin Counties. Some of the larger and more popular bodies of water in this area are: Clear Lake, Lake Cornelia, Beeds Lake, and the Iowa, Boone, and Des Moines Rivers. A few of the activities undertaken by this management team include: 
  • Surveying and assessing fish populations in lakes and rivers
  • Creel surveys on Clear Lake
  • Urban trout fishery at the Blue Pit in Mason City
  • Clear Lake and Ventura Marsh watershed and restoration project
  • Public outreach and education of aquatic resources
