Anamosa’s David Machart became Iowa’s top scholastic archer during the 2016 National Archery in the Schools Program State Championship March 4-5. Machart won the 3D target and the bullseye target competition with identical near perfect scores of 299 out of 300.

An estimated 1,300 students from 50 schools across Iowa will be in the Richard O. Jacobson Exhibition Center at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines on March 4-5, to participate in the 10th Annual Iowa Archery in the Schools Program State Tournament. This is the largest youth archery tournament in Iowa.

An online contour map is now available for Iowa’s newest lake, Lost Grove Lake, located in Scott County. A ceremony to celebrate Lost Grove Lake’s dedication was held October 7.
