Your photo capturing the best of Iowa in autumn could be the DNR's next Facebook cover photo – just enter in our fall cover photo contest!
Entries must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Sept. 20 to email@example.com or via Facebook message, wall post or comment on a Sept. 11 Facebook post about the contest. Keep in mind the dimensions of cover photos – horizontal photos work best. Photos of previous autumns are welcome. Photos should focus on how you enjoy Iowa's outdoors and our natural resources. Please limit yourself to no more than 5 entries.
The DNR will select finalists and post those photos to Facebook the evening of Sept. 23. The winning photo, as determined by popular vote on Facebook, will be posted as the DNR's Facebook cover photo on Sept. 24 or soon after.
You can find the DNR on Facebook at www.facebook.com/iowadnr. Entries will also be posted to the We Love Fall in Iowa board on Pinterest and may also be used on Twitter.
No purchase is necessary to enter or win, and this competition is void where prohibited. To be eligible to participate in the competition, you must be a U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. legal resident, and must be at least 18 years old on the date of the competition. Employees of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and their immediate family members (defined as spouse and minor children) are not eligible for any prizes that may be given away as part of the competition. To participate in the competition, you must submit a photo of Iowa’s outdoors in fall. The photo must be your original photo or you must have permission to submit the photo for use consistent with the rules described herein. Iowa DNR staff will choose finalists and place the finalists’ photos on Facebook, where Facebook users will vote for the winner. Photos may also be posted to the DNR’s Pinterest and Twitter accounts.
All information provided by participants, including photos, shall constitute a public record and shall be treated accordingly pursuant to Iowa Code chapter 22, including without limitation being made available to the public. By submitting a photo in this contest, you are certifying that you have taken the photo or have permission to submit the photo contingent on the rules herein on your behalf, and you are granting the Iowa DNR an unrestricted right to use the photo and any permutation or portion thereof in future promotions, publications and other materials. You are hereby notified that the Iowa Department of Natural Resources is immune from liability and suit for your participation in this competition, including your participation to the extent it effects third parties thereby.
