The Iowa DNR State Forest Nursery and Mills Fleet Farm have teamed up for conservation.

Anyone ordering tree and shrub seedlings from the State Forest Nursery between Jan. 15 and Feb. 17, 2016 will be entered to win a $100 gift card from Mills Fleet Farm.

According to State Forester Paul Tauke, planting trees and shrubs is an investment in healthy forests, wildlife habitat, erosion control and water quality. Trees and shrubs are critical to the health of birds, butterflies and bees.

“Our nursery specialty packets are perfect for the acreage or backyard,” says nursery manager Aron Flickinger. “In addition to our January high-value hardwoods packet, we continually offer six other packets, including a 20-plant songbird packet and five 200-seedling packets which include the turkey packet, pheasant packet, quail packet, pollinator packet and create-a-packet where the customer selects 50 each of four different species.”

“And, of course, we always have our stock of quality seedlings for large-scale planting projects,” added Flickinger.

To place a seedling order, contact the nursery at 1-800-865-2477.  Go to www.iowatreeplanting.com for contest rules and click on the seedling catalog link at the left to view or download a catalog.  Any orders received by Feb. 17, 2016, 4:30 p.m. will be entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card from Mills Fleet Farm.
